She will be missed as a mother, nana, sister, aunt, nurse, friend, and mentor. She will be remembered for her humanitarian endeavors, her compassion as a nurse, her generosity and caring as a friend, her wisdom as a mentor to nurses and nursing students, and her dedication and love for her family.
Bertha co-founded the Phoenix Chapter of the National Association of Hispanic Nurses in 1991 with Dr. Ester Ruiz and has served as a Registered Nurse since 1968. She was an inspirational woman who was a true leader and activist. Throughout her life she was always found mentoring and empowering others to achieve their dreams. She has truly touched the lives of many and we cannot thank her enough for paving the path for many of us.
